Rabeprazole + Levosulpiride Tablet consist of two major drugs: Rabeprazole and Levosulpiride. Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that blocks the gastric proton pump to regulate acid production. Levosulpiride is a prokinetic agent and increases the inferior oesophageal (food pipe) sphincter pressure to prevent food and acid backflow into the mouth. Both components together provide relief from heartburn and acidity.
It’s essential to continue taking Levosulpiride and Rabeprazole for the time period prescribed by your healthcare provider, according to your health condition. You might encounter some usual side effects, such as headache, nausea, vomiting, gas, abdominal discomfort, dizziness, and diarrhoea. Most of these effects are mild and will gradually diminish over time. However, if they continue, please reach out to your doctor.
Consult with your doctor if you are suffering or have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or intestinal blockages. Prolonged use of Levosulpiride and Rabeprazole may result in osteoporosis and low magnesium levels (hypomagnesemia). If you are pregnant or nursing, consult your doctor prior to using this medication. Furthermore, Levosulpiride and Rabeprazole may lead to drowsiness and dizziness; therefore, drive only if you feel awake. This medication is not recommended for children, as its safety and efficacy in this age group have not been proven. It is also wise to refrain from alcohol while taking Levosulpiride and Rabeprazole, as it may enhance drowsiness and increase stomach acid production.
